The New Face of Ayurveda Evidence: Truth, Transparency, and Real-World Science

Posted on October 9, 2025October 9, 2025 By Veritas Editorial

In an age where healthcare systems are increasingly driven by data, metrics, and technology, an essential question arises:

What does evidence truly mean — when Ayurveda meets the complexity of real-world care?

This question lies at the heart of the inaugural Veritas Views Roundtable, hosted by Veritas Online, as part of our ongoing dialogue on truth, transparency, and biomedical integrity.

Rethinking Evidence in Modern Medicine

Evidence has always been the cornerstone of biomedicine. Yet, the ways we define and validate it are rapidly evolving. Randomised trials provide clarity, but real-world care — across diverse patients, contexts, and modalities — brings nuances that no single metric can fully capture.

As healthcare shifts toward integrated, patient-centred models, Ayurveda and other traditional systems offer new dimensions of insight: longitudinal observation, individualised treatment, and outcome measures grounded in lived experience. How can such experiential evidence find credible expression within a biomedical framework?

The Veritas Views Roundtable opens this dialogue — bridging practice-based research, narrative medicine, and biomedical science to shape a new paradigm of evidence with integrity.

What We’ll Explore

Our panel brings together clinicians, biomedical researchers, and integrative practitioners to explore four pivotal themes:

  1. Narrative Validity in Clinical Science
    • How patient and practitioner narratives can be structured as measurable evidence
    • Avoiding tokenism: ensuring qualitative insights guide hypotheses and endpoints
  2. Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Effectiveness
    • Designing pragmatic, practice-based studies that reflect everyday complexity
    • Integrating observational data, polytherapy, and diverse patient pathways
  3. Integrity in Data-Driven Systems
    • Addressing bias, transparency, and reproducibility in clinical data
    • Balancing ethics, consent, and cultural sensitivity in global evidence frameworks
  4. Bench-to-Bedside Reciprocity
    • Fostering collaboration between laboratory research and clinical observation
    • Translational pathways for Ayurveda and other integrative systems
Roundtable Format

Duration: 90-minute virtual discussion

  • Opening provocation & perspectives from invited speakers
  • Guided panel dialogue and audience participation
  • Closing synthesis and publication roadmap

This first roundtable will culminate in a collective editorial published in Veritas Views, followed by invited short position papers and the scoping of a special issue on “Integrity in Evidence.”

Call for Participation

We invite contributions from:

  • Biomedical and clinical researchers
  • Practitioners in integrative and traditional systems of medicine
  • Health data scientists, policy analysts, and ethicists
  • Emerging scholars in narrative and translational research

🗓️ Date: October 12, 2025
📍 Format: Zoom Meeting ID.

Participants will have the opportunity to publish reflective notes (800–1,200 words) highlighting practice insights, ethical considerations, or research directions arising from the discussion. Submissions should include short references and align with the Evidence with Integrity framework.

From the Editor

“This roundtable marks the beginning of an open, transparent, and human-centred dialogue on evidence itself — what it is, how it emerges, and why it must be grounded in integrity.”
— Dr. Neha Sharma, Founder & Editor, Veritas Online
